Now that you’ve got a nice, loud vocal sitting right up in your face, it’s time to add a little space with reverb and delay. Stereo effects are great for creating width, while mono effects work better for pushing the vocal back in the mix and adding depth.
One of my personal favorites in the digital distortion category is the Digitech Hot Rod. It’s cheap enough to try out in your shoegaze setup, and has settings to make your sound both very thin, scratchy ,and dirty, as well as fat and warm. Scott Cortez of the lo-fi shoegaze band Astrobrite uses one. And so I do…
There are two main ways to compose a bass line in today’s hip-hop climate. You can choose a more traditional route by writing and recording a bass guitar or synth bass part, or you can go for a super-low, super-sub bass by using trap-style 808-kick bass lines or other sine wave sounds.

The important thing to consider here, is that you are not your voice. There are certain assumptions about the human voice that vocalists need to disarm in order to become more comfortable singing in front of an audience. You might not always notice it, but in social and political conversations, “voice” is often associated with what is extremely “personal,” for example:
Filippo Faustini is a guitarist and producer based in London. He graduated in Modern Guitar at the Conservatoire in Frosinone (Italy) and then he completed an MA in Composition for Moving Images at City University (London). Think of a narrative like a story you might read in a book. It should let people into your world and show your vulnerable and emotional side. People have been telling stories since the beginning of civilization. It’s how we learned to communicate and create culture, and being able to describe your story in a relatable way that fans can really latch onto is almost as important as being able to describe your music.
Touring is great. But it can very quickly turn into exhaustive, monotonous work. Here are 10 great tips to keep things interesting and fun on the road.
Guitarists often jump to the conclusion that if you want a bigger sound, you need to add more layers. The downside of adding more layers to your guitar tracks, though, is that you lose some of the textures that make your tone so great. So, instead of layering, try using more complex harmonic chord shapes like open voicings and sevenths. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to build seventh chords out of simple triads, courtesy of Soundfly’s popular Mainstage course, Unlocking the Emotional Power of Chords.
Instructed by composer and producer Martin D. It’s used by pro-level producers, songwriters, engineers, and composers of all types to achieve the sound they’re searching for. Logic is also extremely affordable as far as DAWs go, making it perfect for the home-recording musician.

You can also track the total streams and listeners of all of your tracks, combined (but note that this “all-time” graph can only go as far back as 2015).
